Federal Depository Library Conference

October is the month for the annual conference. The conference is the largest annual gathering devoted to U.S. Government information librarianship in the country, and is a wonderful opportunity for networking and continuing learning.

It is very helpful to attend this conference in person if you possibly can, although GPO also broadcasts as many of the sessions as possible so that people can remotely attend too.

You can view past recordings and transcripts and see slides on FDLP.gov.

• MetaLib is a federated search within the Catalog of U.S. Government Publications (CGP). Using this one tool, you can simultaneously search 70 U.S. Government websites and portals, including sites like the FBI Vault, Data.gov, FOIA.gov, CancerLit, and more. 

• October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month.
• Learn more about bats during Bat Week from the National Park Service.
