Additional Resources

Check out some examples of clearinghouse publications on topics related to education:

  • Education Resources Information Center (ERIC)
    • ERIC is a searchable database of education information and research with full-text publications and bibliographies.
  • What Works Clearinghouse (WWC)
    • WWC is a searchable database of evidence-based findings and recommendations on a range of educational topics for different grade bands (from preschool to postsecondary).

ED Information using GPO Resources

GPO has information and publications about ED. Featured examples include the Catalog of U.S. Government Publications (CGP) and FDLP Academy. Click on the tabs of this box to learn more about these resources.

The CGP is one GPO resource to find publications by and about ED. The following information is about one search strategy using the Superintendent of Documents (SuDoc) class numbers.

  1. Go to the CGP
  2. Click on the "Advanced" button in the main menu.
  3. Select "SuDoc Class Number."
  4. Type in the SuDoc class number (see table below for ED examples)
  5. Click "Go."
  6. Search results appear in order of publication year (newest to oldest).
    • Some search results lists will include class numbers in the SuDoc column other than the number searched. This happens if a catalog record contains both old and new SuDoc numbers. The CGP displays the original SuDoc number on the search results page, and the current number is only visible once a record is opened. GPO is investigating whether this can be changed.
