As part of Lend-Lease, from 1941-1945, the United States transfered nearly 15,000 airplanes, 7,000 tanks, 51,000 jeeps, 376,000 trucks, 132,000 machine guns, 4.5 million tons of food to the Soviet Union. The Alaska-Siberia Air Route was what pilots followed to transfer these resources from from Great Falls, Montana through northwest Canada to Ladd Army Airfield near Fairbanks, where Soviet pilots ferried planes to Kransnoyarskb.
